Stone Patio in a Zen Garden

When an old non-functioning waterfall/pond was converted into a lovely patio

At this hillside house in Mountlake Terrace, WA there had been a large and deep pond built decades earlier which had long since fallen into disrepair. After piercing the membrane to allow for drainage, the 2'-deep pond was filled with clean crushed rock, fabric and then compacted base material. Bluestone flags were laid at the base of this existing rock waterfall, kind of representative of a pool of water.
